PostSubject: THOUGHTS ON MRL CLASSIC SCHEDULE FORMAT   Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:07 pm

The word on the street as of late has been that some of our core members are having a tuff time trying to conclude their scheduled games mainly due to lack of communication. The purpose for the newly implemented "FLEX SCHEDULE" was to facilitate the whole gaming experience and the inititial thought was that weekly games would be played at a faster pace. This, unfortunately hasnt been the case for some of the Classic's member. However, it might also be a matter of luck being that some of the members have already completed their full schedules and are just waiting for the post season to arrive. As I tweeted earlier, I feel the flex schedule could still continue to be used as long as we have a specific cut off date for the completion off all games. Although the old format of a game every 48 hrs seemed to be working fine, in this case, with a rapidly growing league of 40 plus, flexability might be the way to go.

I think a better VISUAL aid for the schedule would help.

I honestly find it hard to figure out the schedule - and because of that it deters me from even catching and im obsessed with madden.

Leaguedaddy is pricey but its great at what it does

I think we need to institute a limit on 4 games every 2 weeks, so we'll still have an open schedule u can play anyone you want still stick to a similar games/week as before but with more flexibility.

WHat JayNizz said, did you know that the IND Player schedules were at the bottom? What if we just had Ind Team schedules on the schedule page instead of a Game breakdown? How many people actuall use the Game breakdowns? I will be able to get all the scores into the team schedules.

As for League Daddy sure its easy to access, but I would rather think about a better layout that can be accessed on the site. Let me see what I can come up with.

BTW-I like the schedule "Open" it really helped me out with having a baby and all.

I like the format, open is great as I am barely getting all mines in due to work, kids, wife, school, and little league coaching... Week by week part was kind of pointless which took up space ... The ind breakdown was money and easy to use... Maybe also adding their PSN's somehow so we can send the FR and not have to wait for them to respond on twitter...

I agree with adding the PSN's will do.

Gibs you do have a point on the confusion of the top of teh schedule I think Im going to convert to just an IND schedule format, and if we added some helpfull links on the homepage it will be easy to get there. Ive been working on a new layout all morning it will be better.

Yeah, accessing the schedule is cumbersome. You have to go through 4 different dropdowns to find it. Definitely should have a "current season schedule" link upfront and center. The individual schedules can work just as effectively to show the score like the breakdown does. No need to have them separated really, just needs proper formatting.

Open format is great, dont think enough guys are working twitter properly. Ive ceased trying to get in touch with DarkRaven since he doesnt answer tweets nor PSN messages. I think we need to establish some sort of "communication" requirement that says must at least ANSWER a request to play one way or the other when it is asked (not immediately obviously, just in general). I shouldnt have to hound anyone to play a game and the lack of communication is disrespectful.

With this many people it happens but he was given a committed schedule this season and didnt answer the bell, I think its u to be honest. Meaning I think he knows he cant beat u because I PSN messaged him last night and he said send right away. This theory holds water because I played him in shockers tourney 3 weeks ago, and being a off the fields for 3 weeks because of the baby I was rusty and he beat me. Last night different result of course, as Nitka took him down.

SDU at very least you will get 5 points and a win, but wont be able to get the bonus. Your good on the playoffs though.

I think a basic navigation menu system definately would be better when it comes to accessing certain information as opposed to having to go through different links to get to the main schedule, however, it's also not hard to figure out at the same time, lol. Either way, Im sure Nikta will come up through as always.

A Team thread will be required in season 5 by every member, so if you want to put your phone number in that as the best way to contact you, its fine. I probably will be doing that, along with email, Twitter, and here in the forums. It will be very easy to get me, LOL, "THAT's WHAT SHE SAID lol!

I think you have to place a weight of good vs. bad when making the decision of which one to choose.

To me, there is one major problem with open scheduling:
If you complete your games in a week (showing commitment to your league), you have to wait FOREVER for the next season to start.

I know that some people are procrastinators (hell, I am sometimes). When the open schedule first started, I sent a tweet to EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON MY SCHEDULE and still managed not to play 2 games which I was very unhappy about. The game with WANGTANKKIKI was a duel situation with both of us not to be able to get on the same page. I know that a couple times he asked me to play and I was unable to play vice versa, but I have had 0 AND I MEAN 0 contact with Dark Raven since the season started, and that by all means should be UNACCEPTABLE in the league!!!
